Yoga classes by the lake!

I love my yoga classes by the lake!
I love the people who semi-regularly attend!
I love meeting the new people who come!
I think I am about at the half-way point. I really hope that I have 2 more solid sunny months left of yoga outdoors and by the lake!

My first yoblogging post!

I want to start this yoga blog post with the subject of: Why don't you do yoga?
      I ALWAYS advocate yoga. Sometimes I feel like I do it too much. lol. But, that's because I know and can confirm how it helps you in so many ways! It is not just about doing poses. It is about being more flexible, more mindful, more focused, and so much more! What this world would be like if everyone did some yoga in their lives.
     As I talk to people about doing yoga. I hear their reservations. Or, maybe no verbal reservations. But, just the common one.... I don't know. I actually think that is the best reason. You don't know! I once was that person. I did yoga a few times in the past, but never took it seriously.......till I needed to! That's the thing. Some people don't start to do yoga until they really NEED to. Usually, suggested by a doctor.
    Whether I do get some of people's reasons why or not. I have a feeling of some of the reasons. I came across an article, on Yoga International, that gives a good list of peoples reasons why not. Here they are:
  • I'm just not flexible/calm enough to do yoga.
    • The article says that we as teachers hear this plenty. And it is like saying that you can't take Spanish because you don't speak Spanish. If you take the class, you'll probably learn Spanish. If you take yoga, you learn to be more flexible and calm!
  • I have to lose some weight first.
    • I have people of all shapes & sizes and ages come to class! They do what they can! And if done regularly, can tone and help shape your body! 
  • I need to stop or give up a vice or two.
    • You might find as you really get involved with yoga (the mindfulness), you'll start seeing shifts in your lifestyle. Those changes will happen at your own pace. Just like doing yoga!
  • Yoga is expensive.
    • My yoga is not! I have a $5 outdoor yoga. I offer that rate or some freebies for private lessons. Some on-line yoga stuff is free!
  • I work hard and too tired. No energy to do yoga.
    • Yoga gives you energy! Can help you sleep better!
  • Everyone will see me and laugh and judge.
    • Everyone is worried about themselves. Not you! No judging in yoga. You will find that out!
This is just to name a few. Our mind can talk us out of so many things. Maybe take that thought of no and change it to a okay, I will try it!

As I say in ALL my classes. We are all created uniquely and will come into poses differently from each other. That is why there is not one way to do yoga, there is YOUR way in doing yoga!
